INNOVATION
Automated Polishing
The need for precise, affordable, and fast high-volume, high-quality polishing is increasing especially in the sector of injection tool surfaces. While the machining of the parts has greatly improved over the last decade, manual polishing has basically not changed for the last 50 years. Moreover, the availability of well-trained personnel is rapidly decreasing because demanding manual work has become increasingly unpopular among young people looking for a profession. Therefore, retiring employees cannot be replaced adequately.
Thus, a higher machine output and a substantially increasing market in injection molding meets a decreasing workforce in manual polishing essential for the final finish and quality of the cavities.
The automated approach developed by Gloss & Coating GmbH has the potential to meet the needs for future tool polishing sector.
Advantages
- Active support of the coating formation properties
- Adjustable surface energy (specific to plastic)
- Corrosion protection for tool parting surfaces and contour surfaces
- Layer thickness approx. 1 μm
- Very good substrate adhesion
- Coating substrate is food-safe

INNOVATION
Maintenance and cleaning interval
In international competition, tool and mold manufacturing as well as injection molding production companies have so far been able to differentiate themselves through their quality advantage. However, due to increasing price pressure from international competitors, more and more companies in the industry are finding themselves in a tense economic situation.
With the aim of supporting the competitiveness of tool and mold manufacturing and injection molding production companies through optimized reliability and productivity of their injection molding tools, we have developed a coating system that significantly extends the maintenance and cleaning interval.
The automated approach developed by Gloss & Coating GmbH has the potential to meet the needs for future tool polishing sector.
